Equine Veterinary Assistant

We are currently seeking an Equine Veterinary Assistant (Full-Time, Seasonal) to join our dedicated team. This seasonal position runs from April to September, with the potential to transition into a full-time, permanent role for the right candidate.

Training of Foals

What You'll Do:​

  • Assist our veterinarians by handling, restraining, jogging, and preparing horses for evaluation and treatment. 

  • Set up, maintain, and prepare diagnostic equipment. 

  • Ensure clinic facilities and veterinary vehicles are stocked and well-maintained.

  • Support administrative duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, welcoming clients, and processing invoices.

​​​​​​​​What We're Looking For:

We’re seeking someone who brings energy, commitment, and a passion for equine care. To succeed in this role, you should possess: 

  • A love for horses and a desire to expand your knowledge of equine health.

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to identify opportunities to exceed client expectations. 

  • A friendly and approachable demeanour, with a great sense of humour as a bonus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to teamwork. 

  • The ability to work independently, adapt to shifting priorities, and maintain clear communication.​​​

Requirements: 

  • Recent, significant hands-on experience with horses and confidence in handling all types of equines. 

  • The physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 

  • Capability to jog horses in hand for up to 15 minutes multiple times a day.
